I am a native English speaker who grew up in London and now lives in New York State. I have never studied English grammar directly, but studied Latin grammar in depth and ended up learning formal English rules on the way through frequent comparing and contrasting. I enjoy the grammar of languages in general, both foreign and English, but in my mother tongue I have a particular fondness for older, dying vocabulary words.
