Usage of "being" in sentence
@Naresh to convert directly to active voice, the "possessor of the gerund" needs to switch from the implicit her, made explicit in my rephrasing, to the host's for example.

Examples of Apheretic forms in English?
@Franklin.vp I was just disappointed that there was not a "List of Apheretic Forms" article similar to the page "List of English apocopations." What I'm looking for are some more common words with apheretic origins which I seem to remember seeing spelled with an apostrophe in older books.

Gerund Phrase as Subject
@BillFranke As a previous item writer do you have any advice for someone taking the PSAT on Wednesday?

Gerund Phrase as Subject
The word choice of "enhances" was actually from the PSAT, which may disappoint you. For some reason gerund phrases always appear dangling or out of place when I read them.
