Jan 13, 2013 at 0:36 comment added Fortiter The flaw in selecting one meaning from a list of 12 is the assumption that each item of the list is logically distinct. Item 10 is clearly broad enough to encompass 3, 5 and 9 (at least). The precise meaning will be found not by examining a set of potential synonyms but by considering possible antonyms relevant to this context. The "join" is not biological or chemical.
