I was talking figuratively, not literally. If you thought the part you quoted in your comment was my opinion or soundbite, then you're mistaken and mis-read.

I said that that's the impression having two x's in the word instead of one, conveys. For one to explain how two x's in the word makes it a pejorative (which the OP seems to not be aware of), one must then explain what negative stereotype is associated with the pejorative.
