Mar 28, 2017 at 7:33 comment added Tom22 When you say "many" its more than can easily counted in a glance... millions might mean 5 million ... probably more than a "few", and definitely more than a "couple". I think people would say 10s of millions if they meant 20 or 50 million.for more ?' almost a 100 million'. Millions and millions to me would mean 100s of millions..something short of a billion ..maybe, maybe not.. it's trying to be uncountable at that point. My opinion.. but I'd definitely hear 'many millions" to mean more than millions. Language is what it means to people.. dictionaries are lagging indicators.....
Mar 28, 2017 at 6:23 comment added Rio1210 I agree with @Ricky "Many" would be redundant, it's already "millions of miles". But as you're writing poetry and if you are looking for emphasis, I guess you could put it in there. But I wouldn't write it in a regular sentence.
Mar 28, 2017 at 6:00 comment added Ricky Yeah, kind of. Besides, it's only 90 million miles. It ain't that far. I mean, you might as well say, "Many huge and tremendous millions of miles." Well, that's just my opinion. Maybe you should wait for others to reply.

Mar 28, 2017 at 5:47 comment added TheCompModder @Ricky I'm writing it about the distance from the sun to the moon, though, so is it still redundant?
Mar 28, 2017 at 5:45 comment added Ricky "Many" would, in fact, be redundant. Consider that the entire planet's circumference is only about 26,000 miles.
