Whenever a person comments under your post, because you are the author, you will be automatically notified. Tarantino is a genius when it comes to movie making but he's also completely nuts. And I mean it in complimentary way, he sees connections where normal people don't. And the director of Top Gun, Scott, was a normal type of guy.
Dec 7, 2014 at 17:20 comment added m33lky I don't think Tarantino would agree with you.
Dec 7, 2014 at 8:16 comment added Mari-Lou A Finally, medica's given a sensible explanation. I have not seen the movie but judging from comments, Charlotte had dumped/rejected Maverick. The Youtube clip isn't that helpful BTW to discern the meaning of that phrase in its proper context. Top Gun was made in 1986 when coming out as a homosexual was still a rare event. I don't think the director even suspected that nearly 30 years later fans would be posting sexual innuendo clips of his movie.

Dec 4, 2014 at 0:40 comment added user98955 It is ironic that Tarantino describes(in 2006) Kelly McGillis as the heterosexual element whereas she came out a few years ago. I guess she wasn't flaming. Excellent clip!
