Feb 4, 2013 at 16:09 comment added user24964 I'd say the meaning of "If wishes were horses ..." is the opposite of the Kannada proverb. Instead of wishing things were different actually do something about it. The Kannada proverb seems to be saying, there's nothing you can do - give up.
