May of my friends and acquaintances refer to me as an English language fanatic or zealot. While I've spent over five decades studying the language, it seems I learn something new each and every day.
I am most appalled at the lack of English fluency that most people have in the U.S. of America. I also become a lunatic about words that become invented due to the person either being ignorant of the correct word, or, worse yet, inventing a word because they don't know how to pronounce the word correctly. (e.g. I heard a radio announcer today speaking about an attractive woman, who wore an article of clothing that exposed her [sic] Mid-Drift.
Oh, well. I can't save them all.
