Wayne Goode

Software developer and project manager who studies language and rhetoric on the side. I began when I was trying to get short stories published and learned that correct grammar and good style would help get my stories out of the slush pile. However, I never did get any published. In 2009 I joined Toastmasters and found I liked speaking and was reasonably good at it. Grammarian is one of the skills learned in Toastmasters. I also entered a lot of speech contests. Correct grammar and good use of rhetoric make any speak more interesting, entertaining and memorable. This skills have helped me win many speech contests, so I continue to study and improve them.

My favorite book on the subject: "Keys to Great Writing" by Steven Wilburs
