I am Theoretical Linguist and Knowledge Engineer. In a nutshell I work to create dictionaries and grammars that allow machine to read human language.

I have a AS in Humanities with an emphasis in Computer Science and Language/Document Analysis; and a BA & MA in Theoretical Linguistics with certifications in Language Endangerment and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). My language back ground include several registers and dialects of English (not being facetious here, but different organizations often display distinct speech registers unaccounted for in most English Language Computer packages). I also have a background in Greek, German, Shoshoni (Native American), and a smidgen of Spanish, Italian, and some familiarity with Arabic.

My linguistics specialties ane structure, syntax, and transformations. I also have quite an affinity for "contituent testing" which I use a lot in my work and as a teaching tool. Know how to perform simple tests by substituting words and phrases can really open your eyes to seeing when and why somethings just don't work or seem right.

Aside from my word, which I enjoy immensely, I also enjoying art, music, photography, and motorcycling. And, let's not forget coffee! AND… I'm still pretty good at Trivial Pursuit, emphasis on the trivial parts. :)
