KiffleBaker

I consider myself a lifelong learner, and I'm always seeking correction of grammar, spelling, and syntax errors in both my own and others' writing. I have a BA in English from a small liberal arts college, which I have admittedly not used to my full advantage. I'm about twice the age of many of today's college students.

I am blessed, or cursed, with the ability to spot mistakes and typos everywhere in the written English language. I do my best to refrain from correcting people and businesses on a regular basis. I will admit to slight irritation at the rapid slide into casual "text-speak" that I encounter in my life, and I lament the cultural loss of real handwritten letters. They are a special form of thoughtful communication that email and texting just cannot touch.

I just discovered this site, so please try to correct me gently and with kindness, as I have not participated in this kind of exchange before.
