My display name and profile picture suggest I am an extinct Tasmanian marsupial.
In reality, only the Tasmanian part is true - I'm a recently retired Tasmanian (with no pouch and extinction is hopefully many decades away), inhabiting a bush environment at an altitude of 470m on the slopes of Mount Wellington behind Hobart.
I was a federal government executive and have expertise in law and finance with university qualifications in Science (Zoology) and Law (Taxation).
I have travelled the world (favourites are Singapore, Thailand, England, Italy, France and Spain), lived in the US for a year, and my wife and I have ambitions to travel much more in retirement.
I adore intelligent fantasy and science fiction and read an eclectic range of non-fiction too.
I'm a keen home cook and enjoy eating Asian and Modern Australian fare, particularly during my frequent visits to Melbourne where my daughter lives.
