I'm a native US citizen in my 40's. I've spent the better part of the last 30 years studying computers, computer science, software engineering, and...well, lots and lots of stuff ;) I'm a software and technology manager now but I spent many years as a software developer building various types of software for different industries, from tiny to ultra giant companies, and everything in between.
I love to read and learn new things. I have a strong fondness for books, especially actual physical books. You could easily categorize me as a bibliophile. I love their smell, touching them, the way the pages feel as they turn, etc... Even as tech-natured as I am I still to this day have a hard time reading e-books. There is just something about them that doesn't grab me the same way a physical book does. And I still have a nostalgia that hits me whenever I enter a bookstore. :)
My biggest interest as it relates to English (and therefore this site) is vocabulary. I'm well versed in grammar and the syntactic rules of English but I'm far more interested in words. I love to read dictionaries and various vocabulary guides; I read them daily and nightly as time permits.
I'm also the father of two boys. I have a nearly 14 year old that I officially adopted 12 years ago (my ex-wife's biological son). And together we had another son that is nearly 11 years old now. They are both so amazing, and the center of my universe. They love computers, all things digital, and are ultra inquisitive, just like dad :)
