I am a professional editor who's interested in looking at language through a more "scientific" lens. Dictionaries, I'd argue, are only arbiters of usage and thus commonly fall prey to the argumentum ad verecundiam (appeal to authority), a common logical fallacy. Language may change, but that doesn't mean there's a good reason for it. Truth is universal.

Outside of English usage, my interests include classical music, movies, and philosophy.
