At 0:52 in this video, the lyrics go "the clouds in the sky of my life, they call my name, so I think it's gonna rain, and I still dream of beautiful places..." The previous line is "some of the memories still hurt me, but it's a comforting pain".

What is this all supposed to mean? I get the line about memories still hurting, but what does a weather forecast have to do with the rest of the lyrics? Do you think it's just a non-sequitur reference to Alice in Chains? ("I think it's gonna rain when I die") that was put there as filler? How can clouds call your name?

It's a metaphor for "some of the memories still hurt me".

  • We don't get into explanations of possible artistic meanings on this forum, as that's a matter of opinion. But if you have a question about the literal meaning of a word or phrase, that's on-topic.

  • I’m voting to close this question because as Tim so eloquently puts it 'We don't get into explanations of possible artistic meanings on this forum, as that's a matter of opinion'. ...
