I jogging, a stranger asked me to tell him the way to the station.

Does the strange sounding sentence above qualify as a nominative absolute phrase?

  • Hello, postman. What can you show us about nominative absolute phrases from internet sources? – Edwin Ashworth Jun 15 at 18:38
  • The only place you might expect to see a pronoun used in a nominative absolute nowadays is in older poetry (... I smiling like a rose ...). The everyday context of the example above makes it untenable. Which is possibly why someone downvoted. – Edwin Ashworth Jun 15 at 18:50
