When making hypothetical statements such as: If you wanted a loan for your startup, all you'd need to do was/would be/is get in touch with a local bank.

Here which word choice is most suitable among would be/was/is, given the context is hypothetical?

This question has some insightful answers here: Is the use of “would” valid when describing a hypothetical, future situation? link and Would or will - in a somewhat hypothetical situation link. You could frame your sentence thus: If you wanted a loan for your startup, all you'd need to do would be to get in touch with a local bank. – Fruitjam Apr 20 at 10:19
  • Thanks. Yes I missed "to." I checked those answers. The second one was particularly insightful (the first one went a little over my head). That being said, would you say here "would" is the best option out of the three? – Ash199 Apr 20 at 10:38
  • I would say it would be so. – Fruitjam Apr 20 at 16:54
