I want to use a synonym or other different words for (it appears likely): The sentence is: By comparing the formulas for quantity1 and quantity2 ,it appears likely that quantity1 > quantity1 for all points and all N, although this has not been proved. Do you agree with the grammar correctness in the sentence?

  • The scientific analysis seems flawed. I don't think it's at all likely that quantity1 is ever greater than quantity1, I'm afraid. But "do you agree with the grammar" is proof-reading which we don't do. Asking for a replacement for "it appears likely" is on-topic, although evidence of what you have already found would help. Please see our help on phrase-requests. – Andrew Leach Mar 23 at 20:31
  • Is there a specific synonym for it appears likely – Adam Mar 23 at 21:35
  • It appears likely that is somewhat redundant. You can use either just it appears that or it is likely that. – Jason Bassford Mar 23 at 22:54
  • It is conjectured that... – Jim Mar 24 at 17:15
