I heard this expression in a video about buying clothes. In that video, the shop keeper welcomed the customer by saying "How can we help you?".But he is the only one in that store. So I wonder why he said "How can we help you?" instead of "How can I help you?" Are they interchangeble?

Some call it the royal "we". – Tushar Raj Dec 28 '18 at 10:38
  • Yes, they're interchangeable in that context. Same as I can say "we can say X". – Chappo Dec 28 '18 at 12:32
