I want to express my thanks and appreciation for someone who has patiently understood, listened and bared me.

Thanks for staying on this one with me...

  • Is there some better way to say or text this?
  • How do I differentiate between someone smaller than I & an elder while saying/writing the same thing?

The sentence structure of your example should be

Thanks for staying with me on this one...

but otherwise seems to be valid.

In general you won't need to adjust the sentence, but replacing "thanks" with "tank you" would make it more formal.
