  • Can you add a sentence where you would use the word? It's unclear what type of word you're looking for (e.g. part of speech). – Laurel Oct 25 '18 at 21:47
  • Also, are you looking for a term that describes such a person sympathetically, or cynically? A sympathetic speaker might say your person is "self-sacrificing." A cynical speaker could say the person "has a martyr complex." – JDM-GBG Oct 25 '18 at 21:57
  • Sometimes people can be too altruistic, and it doing so "they'd set themselves on fire to keep somebody else warm." – lux Oct 26 '18 at 2:25
