I need some opinions from English peoples for a school project. I hope you wouldn't mind participating, by answering a few simple questions. Here we go!

  1. Where are you from?
  2. Do you speak any dialect or do you speak proper RP (received pronunciation, i.e. standard British English)?
  3. Do you like all the different variations on the English language or would you prefer everybody to speak RP?

That's all! I hope you'll reply, it would mean a lot!

Please edit the question to limit it to a specific problem with enough detail to identify an adequate answer. Avoid asking multiple distinct questions at once. See the How to Ask page for help clarifying this question. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

  • This is basically a survey and is off-topic on this site. And you haven't made clear what 'RP' refers to. – Nigel J May 19 '18 at 18:50

There is standard English in the US too. As they say in the southern US, don't git it on ya. Wikipedia can you-know-what. :) The tag is in contradiction to the question: Do you like the different variations on the English language [sic]. – Lambie May 19 '18 at 19:22

user299464 your 3rd question is presumptive. Most English English speakers do not speak the RP, so why would they think everybody should? – Weather Vane May 19 '18 at 19:32

@Lambie agreed it is a poorly asked question. – Weather Vane May 19 '18 at 19:33
