What is the term you are forced to respect authorities, but they couldn't care less about you?
For example:

We have ______ in our house; we are forced to respect elders, but they mistreat us.

  • Obedience: the act or practice of obeying; dutiful or submissive compliance. – user66974 Dec 14 '16 at 16:17
  • @JOSH obedience doesn't mean person to you being obedient to is not respecting you – Murad Dec 14 '16 at 16:18

    Oppression? Repression? Tyranny? – FumbleFingers Dec 14 '16 at 16:21

    Sounds like that authority is in breach of the social contract. But that's decidedly not a single word. – Doug Warren Dec 14 '16 at 19:36

    @FumbleFingers I think tyranny is exactly it. – Phil Sweet Dec 14 '16 at 21:27

We have despotism in our house; we are forced to respect elders, but they mistreat us.

Yes, despotism seems to fit the context you describe. If you don't mean to convey outright cruelty, oligarchy might work. We have an oligarchy in our house...

  • Now benign oligarchies; I like it. – MikeJRamsey56 Dec 15 '16 at 0:05
  • Now -> No. Fat-fingered that previous comment; sorry. – MikeJRamsey56 Dec 15 '16 at 0:11
