A little context would help. You might mean something like "expert", "guru" or "savant". These describe the person, as your question literally says. You might be looking for an expression like: "he cut the Gordian knot". This describes the solution. You might be looking for something like the expression "snap judgement". – Hugh Meyers Nov 11 '16 at 10:48

Does the person answer correctly and completely or is the person maybe missing half the problem? – Helmar Nov 11 '16 at 12:44
