I'm looking for a single word that is the synthesis of seeing and hearing together.

of, pertaining to, involving, or directed at both hearing and sight

I love the simplicity of your answer -sometimes, definitions are just that – Third News Jun 5 '14 at 5:19
  • seeing and hearing are verbs. audiovisual is not. It is not easy to use it in the same way. – awe Jun 5 '14 at 6:23
  • A verb would be not a single word anymore. Something like "perceiving audiovisually" – skymningen Jun 5 '14 at 6:24
  • This also depends on how the OP intend to use it of course. Sometimes we need more context to be able to find the right expression. – awe Jun 5 '14 at 6:31

@awe seeing and hearing are also nouns, and the title asks for one thing rather than one action. – Neil W Jun 5 '14 at 6:48
