In typing class in the 1990s, U.S., we first learned to leave two spaces after the full stop if it is used to end a sentence. After abbreviations, one space was to be used, and in between abbreviations, no spaces were to be used. For example, in "U.S.A.", there is one space after "A." and no spaces elsewhere. Nowadays I rarely or never follow the two-space rule for sentences. | |
