Sep 28, 2018 at 16:20 comment added MT_Head "Begging the question" is a tactic of the answerer, not the questioner - it's a type of circular reasoning. Q:"Why do you say your product is the best?" A:"Because it's better than all the others." Q:"In what way is it better?" A:"It's the best." Obviously this example has been simplified to the point of absurdity, but this tactic is very very common - which is why I hate hearing people misuse the phrase "begging the question". If we forget the name of the tactic, we risk losing the ability to recognize it.
