Is it possible and correct to say submerge into? Any suggestions will be most welcome

I would like to know if it is correct to say: we submerge into current affairs such politics, humans rights, economic indicators and...?

I am not completely sure if this is possible, and I wish to convey the idea of being immerseimmersed in discussion in a productive way.
