I would say something like: When moving something hot it is a good idea to state loudly what you are about to do, and look around to ensure no one is in the way. To insist on it being routine even if there is no one else in the house sounds a little like a case of OCD. | |

What I am trying to say is We must follow "Best Practice" to avoid remotely possible accidents in a more generic term.
