Eg, in F1 if someone does a rather harsh overtake (not mentioning Maldonado, of course!), then sometimes "the red mist descends" and the person who was overtaken may become really aggressive and try sometime reckless. (I realise that isn't exactly the same as what you have asked, but related :).)
