comment Why is it, “It seems different”, but “It comes across differently”?
Using "as" brings up a good point. Is "You come across differently" even valid? Normally the verb "to come across" means "to discover," while "to come across as" means "to seem." If the intention is to describe the air of the subject, shouldn't it always be "come across as?"
