I own Method R Corporation, a company dedicated to optimizing software performance, predominantly on Oracle-based application systems. In the 1980s and early 1990s I was a compiler designer who wrote a lot of yacc, lex, and C. Nowadays, I spend most of my hands-on software development time writing Perl code. I also maintain a large XSLT application I wrote a few years ago.
