I'd simply say "that's lame". People get it. ;-)

comment “When I was in college…” Do you really mean college? Or university?
@slebetman Still on a side note, collège in France refers to medium school. Not sure how relevant though.

comment What is the opposite of Optimal?
@oerkelens Oh, my bad, my brain must have just skipped the italic part. Funny how the word exists and is never used though.

comment Alternative to “a bunch”?
I like ton or plethora. Of course you would not say "a plethora of water".

I love how each generation has to feel special, as if they were the only ones to know radical change.

comment Is there a single word for “The excitement and enthusiasm at the beginning of a new job/romance” etc.?
The word? I was thinking of « fougue » but it is mostly in a romantic or sexual context.

comment What is the word for a secret concerning one’s own life?
My understanding of this term is that it's mainly used for things that are fantasized, and not actually happening (like the sexual fantasies in @ErikKowal example). The poetry example thus doesn't feel right, because the lawyer does read it in the week-ends, instead of only dreaming of being a poet.

comment “Really” in a negative sentence
+1 for really not ready, it's the stronger form of "not ready".
