I am a ColdFusion/SQL Server web developer. I have 14 years experience developing web sites for small businesses, colleges, and non-profits. I am just getting into jQuery and Postres.
I think this web thing has a future.

“After a fashion” I think you missed an important part of the meaning of the phrase. The meaning must have a negative component, meaning more "in a negative manner". Yes, Dumbledore DID have a drink, but it was a negative drink. Great example though! |

Is “as energetic as a stalk of whipped asparagus” an idiom? Why would anyone downvote this question? |

When writing user stories, should there be a comma after “As a User”, and before “I want”? You certainly wouldn't want anyone to read it like this: "While I was eating the cat...", which is why your answer is correct. |

Subject–verb agreement — two schools of thought? You should have answered Neil's question as a comment to his question. You answered my question directly. You wrote "there are companies" sounds better in your answer. You wrote "there are a large number of companies" in your comment. That's not the same thing. Please clarify. Your clarification will be your awesome contribution. |

Subject–verb agreement — two schools of thought? I disagree. I am writing for a general audience. My goal is to appeal to them, not to me. I want to ensure that I follow the standards that are agreed on by the majority. |

Subject–verb agreement — two schools of thought? Your answer is kind of irrelevant because it doesn't address the question I posted. |

Subject–verb agreement — two schools of thought? This is the complete sentence. There is a follow up sentence though. "Please be patient." |

Does “so far, so good” carry a negative connotation? Whoever voted you down should at indicated why they did so. |
