“My late friends” — they're not dead! @user867: Of course not! Otherwise I wouldn't have asked. Thanks! |

“On the lake” vs. “in the lake” I used to say "We took the new kayak out to the lake as it was a nice day" - sounds fine to me, that one. |

Is there a better way to refer to “Real Life” when chatting online? @Mitch: Yeah but upon reading IRL, you get 'In Real Life', which is precisely what I'm trying to avoid XD |

Is there a better way to refer to “Real Life” when chatting online? @user37324: Of course I think of it, but I don't want to use it, so I made this question. |

Is there a better way to refer to “Real Life” when chatting online? @user37324: Because I was in the messenger chat example scenario I made in the question, and wanted to say "Oh? You meet him in [outside the world of internet]" - the only phrase that would pop up into my mind was "in real life" but I dislike it, so I'm asking for a proper alternative because I don't want to add it in my conversation at all. |

What is the role of “virtually” in this sentence? Well, that's good to know. But I still don't get that in essence, but not in fact definition well as I mentioned in the question :( |
