Being spoken by a muslim or non muslim doesnt change the english pronunciation of the word. (See accepted answer). Its just that muslims are invariably exposed to the Arabic pronunciation and they start using it more commonly. it doesnt change the english pronunciation.

I just wanted to start a reply to an email with "Thank you very much <title> <lastname> for ......" A name just wont cut it in this case. Anyway google images gave me a positive id on the recipient's gender. It was a woman

Why cant we just let the language evolve instead of going for correctness. "As per" is better in usage, with less syllables. And this better word would never become a part of the language unless we let it be.
