I am not particularly educated, in-depth, regarding the English language but I do have a love of preciseness due to AHDD and High Functioning Asperger's, hence I am easily confused by imprecise vocabulary or descriptions.
Also I try to avoid the abominations of what I call 'Americanisms' except to make a humourous cultural point - in that America is a culturally imperialistic force which has influenced the world not necessarily for the better, particularly with the smart phone and PlayStation generation.
The problem with a lot of American communication is that it is advertising orientated, often highly abbreviated, and therefore tends to pander to the lowest, and laziest common denominator.
