Word for a male that prefers female companions (no slang such as “pimp”) These are good! Though to me "philogyny" does not necessarily mean he/she enjoys "the company of" them. Perhaps a word that means "someone who prefers the company of the opposite sex"? In a non-sexual way - think, as I mention above, a gay man who prefers hanging out with female friends, and not with men, regardless of their sexual orientation. The gay man does not, in this example, want to procreate with the women, and sees them exclusively as friends. |

Word for a male that prefers female companions (no slang such as “pimp”) Thank you all for your comments, but I am afraid "lady's man" is not what I am looking for, as @JonHanna astutely recognized. Perhaps some more clarification is necessary. The gentleman in question (again, I don't remember exactly who he was) was known to enjoy female companionship, but the relationships were, by all accounts, not sexual ones. In fact, he may have been homosexual. A clearer frame to explore the query then would be to think of a fully gay man who enjoys hanging out with women. Or again, a person who prefers to "hang out with" members of the opposite sex,w no sexual desires |
