I think real-time is the word I'd reach for the most in this situation. Face-to-face is a related concept with additional physical presence. Directly might also be a word that could apply in this case.

Scrubbed suits the bill here as it works for both the event and the plan to attend an event (e.g. "the festival was scrubbed" vs. "I scrubbed my plans to go to the festival").

Surely this would be the term applied to the person in charge of company processes (the boss), rather than the employee in the situation (who has no direct control over whether they remain employed).
