Names: Julio vs Julia @tchrist So, if I understand your answer correctly... You are saying that the two names are both based off of the same original name "Julius"? That is exactly the kind of information I was looking for, but does it not only further validate my question? If that is the case, then it is bizarre that they would be pronounced differently. It sounds like your comment would make a worthy answer to this worthy question, if only with some further analysis and explanation. |

Names: Julio vs Julia @tchirst I'm not sure I understand the issue with the question. It seems like people are assuming that the answer is too obvious? But it certainly doesn't seem to be... I am still uncertain of the answer. |

Does the word “skyfall” (or “sky falls”) exist in English? @camelbrush The OP asked, "Is “skyfall” used as an English word other than James Bond “007 Skyfall” and its theme music?" This is directly answering this question. |

What is the clearest way to describe two “kitty-corner” buildings? Kind of ironic, but... I do not understand the question. Could you clarify it? |

Determining plural forms of fictional words @tchrist That is an example of a specific word or language by a specific author, and is an instance of him actually defining the plural forms. That is the opposite point of my question - To determine if this could be found or estimated in a case where the creator of a fictional word DID NOT specify the plural form. |
