comment Ending punctuation of “How are you”?
The quote was actually one of those italicized quotes that appear at the end of every Readers Digest (RD) article. It was probably contributed by an RD reader. It was many years ago, so I don't even remember what punctuation they had used. Then again, couldn't 'how are you' be used solely with an exclamation mark imagining someone was shouting it to a friend? How are you!!!

The hyphens I used were not to separate the syllables but to highlight the pronunciation. Edits made

But you're very correct. I'd rather use 'keep a score' on the T-shirt, than allow anyone to think that it was meant in a negative way.

@everyone: I recollect 'keep track', 'keep pace' and 'keep time' too. Although 'keep tempo' is something I haven't come across, but going with the pronunciation theory, I guess 'keep tempo' is also ok. I'll say, it's been nice to discuss this with you guys. Un-biased opinions on English from y'all are a refreshing change from the biased opinions I get to hear. Thanks guys!
