comment Idiom or word for a very heavy thing
Nowadays, many people fill in that blank with a curse (usually the f-bomb). In that phrasing, like and as seem to be interchangeable.

comment Why do people use the word “or” when offering a translation?
I see that "or" is very concise as compared to other methods, so that's probably why it is used. I think I'm more interested in how /when it started.
