The ( changed ) meaning or classification of words in programming I did not posted this question to discuss programming methodology, but language . How to treat those strings of language that might have a ( correct ) meaning in a certain context but are grammatically ( or spelling wise ) wrong . |

The ( changed ) meaning or classification of words in programming @horatio - I am using an IDE , and syntax highlighter has nothing to do with the question. Even NP++ that you yourself mentioned has a built in spell Checker. I believe that either you have never released a software, or you misunderstood the question... How else should one spell check 20,000 different translatable strings ??? |

English Homonym Nouns @waiwai933 - I understand - but if you will read more carefully - I was asking for the NUMBER of how many exist (which may well be that no one here will know - but it is quite a definite question with a potentially definite answer ) or examples. (the list request was in parenthesis for a reason) |

Adjective or noun when referring to plural citizenship ok, that can be logic when talking about people, but what about book, food, art ? and what if I am not a part of the group "they are Italians " and not "we are Italians" |

Adjective or noun when referring to plural citizenship thanks for the answer, but IMHO, men and male are totally different concepts - and they are as an example also different from my example in the question. men as a word integrates several "ingredients" and "concepts" to form a new one (such as Age, Sex..). "we are all male" and "we are all men" can describe a very different situation. (think of a room full with male children, and a room full of grown men) |

Adjective or noun when referring to plural citizenship I understand - and in case of a PERSON nationality it can be satisfactory, but what if i talk a bout a book, or food ? I would assume "Those Drinks/Books are Italian" is the correct one, but your answer, if i correctly understand it , suggest that if the emphasis is on the "personhood" (as such not exist exactly for abook) , I would use "Italians" ?? (when stressing not the nationality , but the "spirit" .. like painting, taste form of art etc - which nationality is not "italian" but have the "italian spirit" inside .. |
