Conference registerer I've heard people say the phrase: "we have a couple of no-shows today at the conference". Not sure if it is gramatically correct though. |

Conference registerer "phantom registrants" conjures up an image of dead registrants whose souls are attending a long forgotten conference. :) It has an ethereal quality to it, I'd say. |

Common phrases for something that appears good but is actually bad Yeah, I think specious is probably the right answer. |

Do you say “please yourself” in a non-sexual context? I think "suit yourself" is a better idiom in this context, but then I am not a native english speaker. |

Does “so far, so good” carry a negative connotation? I like this answer. It is succinct and precise. I'd avoid the '...' though. It doesn't serve any purpose in your answer. |

Do vs Does? or Don't vs Doesn't? Really @RegDwightѬſ道 ? It's either too specific, or too basic. You could have edited my question to suit your taste instead of just blindly closing it. You couldn't even wait for other people to vote on this question. It's a shame that only 1 person decides what's right and wrong. |
