If there was a bronze badge for "Asked a dumb question", I'd have a whole lot of bronze badges.

I'm looking for a single word to replace a 'lack of response' Perhaps "apparent apathy" if the person who is offering the point-of-view is unsure as to why the object in question is being unresponsive. |

I'm looking for a single word to replace a 'lack of response' Excellent word if the thing in question truly is unresponsive due to apathy. Obviously, it's not an ideal choice if the thing in question isn't apathetic, because you'd be misleading your audience by stating that it is, when perhaps the object is simply unresponsive because of fear or some other motivation. |

Is there a fine line between symbolism and metaphors in literature? I really like your description of a metaphor and a symbol. |

Why are there two pronunciations for “either”? @Alan - that would make a good question! |

What do you call the word used in prose to describe the surroundings to make prose richer? @Shinto - I simply supplied an answer that I felt fit the question. The manner in which Surya asked and described the question made me think of sensory imagery. |
