some one says that there is no rule for noun and verb for gender,and they are nutral. But some says it is possible.as vixen for fox. then what would i use?
Is it correct to write: He wants to explain X concept to the layman, not before warning him ... Or should I write: He wants to explain X concept to the layman, not before warning him or her ...
And if so, how did they differentiate between male, female or neuter nouns? Did English ever have gender-specific (in)definite articles? (like der/die/das in German)
