What is a proper reply for "Excuse my bad English"? I was waiting in a room and the interviewer, who is French, came in and said "Good afternoon and excuse my bad English". I just don't know how to reply, it's really awkward.

One response you might try is, "Your English is probably better than my French," but I'm afraid this question isn't really on topic. – J.R. Sep 22 '12 at 9:45
Thanks, J.R., that's a good one. I was just wondering what native speakers would normally reply to this polite expression, like when someone said "thank you", you say "You're welcome" – xiajiezai Sep 23 '12 at 10:51
I suppose you could just politely say something like, "Oh, it's no problem." – J.R. Sep 23 '12 at 11:21
