I am looking for a list of letters that can produce the highest count of Anagrams.

For example: If I had 4 letters what 4 letters would produce the most possible Anagrams? same thing with 10 letters, ect..

Get a large list of anagrams and code a program that would output the frequency of the letters used. But, what is the purpose of your question? – Sel Sep 8 '12 at 4:47
Sorry, this question isn't a good fit for our site. – Mahnax Sep 8 '12 at 4:49
Try the Internet Anagram Server: wordsmith.org/anagram – JAM Sep 8 '12 at 4:53
@Sel You don't even need an anagram list. You just need the standard dictionary file that comes with most common Linux desktop distributions. If I was at home, I could code up the answer in 5 minutes. – Pitarou Sep 8 '12 at 6:17
@Pitarou, that standard dictionary file (/etc/dictionaries-common/words on my sys) produces lots of false matches or mediocre words; for one of the top counts with 38 words, only 24 (ester esters reset resets rest rests serest setter setters steer steers street streets stress stresses teeters terse terser tersest tester testers trees tress tresses) look suitable to me; the other 14 are Ester or Terr's or a baker's dozen of the previous words with 's tacked on. – jwpat7 Sep 8 '12 at 6:34
