What is the difference between 'flesh' and 'meat'? 'skin' and 'fur'?

for example, human meat? or ...

the needle will go into your flesh? or meat?

There is an insect bite on the kitty's skin (or kitty's fur).

Thanks!

This question is too basic; it can be definitively and permanently answered by a single link to a standard internet reference source designed specifically to find that type of information. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

My understanding is "flesh" used to be body tissue; "meat" used to be kind of solid food.
